The Sunway Group has been ranked 6th in the Hewitt-Fortune-RBL Top Companies for Leaders 2007 Asia Pacific, so it’s no surprise that the group has continued its expansion and improvement of Bandar Sunway by making it the first integrated wireless township in Malaysia!

ECHO, along with a few other student leaders were there to witness the launch of Bandar Sunway’s WiFi network on 14 July 2008.

The project provides wireless broadband coverage to Sunway Pyramid Shopping Mall, Monash University, Sun-U, Sunway Metro, Sunway Lagoon Theme Park, and Sunway Mentari. Over 100 WiFi hotspots have been activated within the Sunway Group area which will benefit business users, students and visitors of Bandar Sunway.

The group, with its partner Packet One Networks (M) Sdn Bhd (P1), has just completed the first phase of the township’s wireless broadband development. The second phase of the project, which will benefit its 30,000 residents and another two million visitors per year, is expected to commence soon.

“Together with the Sunway Group today, we’ve once again proven our commitment to leading the pack in bridging the urban digital divide through wireless technology and realizing the Malaysian Government’s aspiration to enrich the lives of all Malaysians,” Michael Lai, P1’s chief executive officer, proudly announced.

So have no fear! Wherever you are in Bandar Sunway, you’re bound to get connected!
