Gosh, it’s been some time since we’ve updated on ourselves! Sorry for keeping all of you waiting!
Well, you’ve probably noticed the facelift of our site. There’re still some bugs we’ve got to work on. Do let us know what you think, though! Email us or scribble something on our guestbook!
Phew! Now that the Face of Sun-U is out and done with, the team is focusing on getting our second issue together! We’re hoping to get the magazine into shape by the end of October, and this means you’ll be seeing teams of ECHO writers and the newly formed Junior Leaders scurrying around campus interviewing people and the like. So if you’d like to be featured in the magazine, be on the look out for cameras and voice recorders in hand!
But even so, with final exams and what not coming around the bend for many of us, meeting the October deadline is proving to be quite a challenge.
That’s why, we’d like to welcome aboard two writers who will be helping us out: Divya Menon from DP+M (*ahem* Department of Performing Arts and Media) and Jolene Khor from ADTP!!
Nevertheless, we always appreciate the help from anyone of you in Sun-U who would like to contribute. If you’re a writer, a photographer or a graphic designer hoping to exercise your brains, do not hesitate to drop us an email! Or look for Terence Lim at the Student Services Department.
*Our designer Adrian would like to stress on the fact that graphic designers are very VERY WELCOME*
Of course, if you’ve been hanging around the Student Centre lately, you’d have seen ECHO’s recently adopted pet: Terence the Gecko!
Always hungry for insights and people’s opinions, Terence the Gecko is more than happy to receive your suggestions on how to soup up ECHO! This week, we were looking for suggestions on interesting personalities in campus that we could interview for the second issue.
Terence the Gecko received contacts of a Borat impersonator, a highly-talented contortionist, a rapper and a National ballroom dance champion, amongst many others.
Thank you for your input! ECHO appreciates the love!
And do look out for Terence’s next appearance! But please, less vulgar suggestions would be appreciated =)

Sorry for the late updates on our site. Some of us have been bitten by the holiday bug. 
It’s been confirmed that the final round of the Face of Sun-U will be held on 25 August 2008 (Monday). So what’s the final round all about? Click here to find out.

Due to some complications (we will leave that up to your imagination about what surfaced =) ), we regrettably announce that the final round of FOSU has been postponed.
The tentative date has been set to 22 August 2008 (Friday), but we will confirm that soon. Stay tuned to ECHOnline to get the latest updates on FOSU, or, heck, just Facebook for the FOSU Final Round event if you like!

For those who had expected the final FOSU round this Tuesday, we would like to apologize for a little hiccup on our part.
It has been confirmed that the Final Round will be postponed to 20 August 2008 (Wed). So come down to give support to your final three Faces in the cafeteria and vote, vote, vote!

THE INTERNATIONAL STUDENT CARNIVAL
IS HERE!
The annual International Student Carnival (ISC for short) is finally here! This is your chance to upgrade yourself on your knowledge of the world around you.
Dance, cultural performances, games and a whole lot more of activities are lined up just for you.
The events are as follow:
8th of August – Sports Carnival from 3pm onwards
9th of August – Forum (afternoon) and Cultural Night (7pm-11pm)
EVERYONE IS INVITED and the admission is FREE!
This is definitely a chance too good to pass up.

There are times when we have to say goodbye to things and especially people that we love. This is all part of life and we can never run from it as once again, we have to say goodbye to another one of our beloved ECHOian. Our creative director, Sara Lim. We are so sorry that we did not give you a proper farewell. Hopefully this post would do.

Farewell Dear MJ!
Fellow readers, it is with utmost regret for me to announce that Echonline’s designer as well as photographer, Maryam Jameelah Fauzi (MJ for short) will be leaving us soon, in two weeks’ time for UiTM, Johor. However, this does not mean that MJ will not be with us, as her passion and spirit for ECHO will forever remain with us. MJ, your effort and hard work shall never be forgotten. Thank you so much for all your hard work and all that you’ve done. ECHO will never be the same without you.
Although parting ways is nothing to be happy about, that won’t stop the ECHO team from having some fun. In conjunction with the ECHO launch, the ECHO team had held a SURPRISE FAREWELL PARTY for dear MJ.
With the grand entrance of the cake, the main character had covered her mouth with both her hands in a gesture of surprise, not to mention there were a few tear drops. Before everyone dived for the cake, MJ had a chance to suap quite a number of people, including our boss!

Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, ECHO is finally launched!!! Yes, my friend, it is here.
With a whole new approach on what a college magazine should be like, the ECHO team had named this issue REBIRTH! The ECHO team had worked day and night with only one goal in mind, trying to break away from the school yearbook format, and let me tell you, the results are very encouraging. That is why the ECHO team would like to take this chance to say THANK YOU to all fellow readers and supporters for your positive feedbacks. We did get some not-so-positive- reviews, but that will only motivate us even further to bring you, your ideal magazine!
